A few weeks ago I bought Elisabeth Doherty's "Amigurumi! Super Happy Crochet Cute." It's a great book to have in your craft book collection.

My son kept asking me to make the punk bunny for him. I thought I would take my time making him, but once I started I couldn't stop. So I finished him a lot sooner than expected. I need to fix his one eye though, but overall he turned out pretty spiffy!

After I made him, I wanted to try and make another humanoid doll. This time I wanted to make the cartoon character, Ruby Gloom. I would have liked to use eyelash yarn for her hair but all I had was regular yarn. I was going to keep her but my mother decided to claim her so I guess I'll just make another Ruby Gloom and try it with the eyelash yarn or something for her hair. Excuse all the little fuzzies still on her outfit....

Crochet Hook Case

I've been wanting to make it for a long time. Now I don't need to use that ugly pencil case anymore.

I used cotton yarn to make this - my first non acrylic yarn project. It measures about 24cm X 15.5cm.

It was also my first sewing project. It wasn't all that fun actually because I had to use my mother's ancient sewing machine that kept stalling while I was sewing on the fabric, arghh!!! I need to get myself a sewing machine.

The pattern for this case is from "Hajimete no tezukuri - Kagibari de amimono"
ISBN:4277430708

I was in Walmart the other day with a friend and we were browsing the craft section. I found some inexpensive little craft kits I thought my four year old son could try. He was pretty excited to make it.

Here he is being crafty.

Voila! Jared's first puppet made by his own little hands. He decided to decorate it later with Chicken Little stickers my friend bought for him.
