I've been listening to a lot of k-indies lately. I have no idea what they're singing, but I love these sweet sounds. ^^

Roly Poly Cats Pattern

I've had a lot of requests for this pattern, but I never got around to it. The reason - I'm just too darn lazy to write up a written form of the pattern! I'm still not used to written instructions (I prefer number charts), so if you find any problems in the pattern, please let me know.

sc = single crochet
st = stitch
sc2tog = single crochet 2 together (decrease)

MATERIALS :
Worsted weight yarn in two colours
Size G/4.5mm hook
Size F/4.0mm hook
Polyfill or any other stuffing
8mm plastic eyes
Black and pink embroidery thread
Pipe cleaner (optional)

HEAD
Use Hook G
Colour A

1.6sc in adjustable loop (6st)
2.2sc in each st around (12st)
3.(sc 1, 2sc in next sc) repeat 6x (18st)
4.(sc 2, 2sc in next sc) repeat 6x (24st)
5.(sc 3, 2sc in next sc) repeat 6x (30st)
6.(sc 4, 2sc in next sc) repeat 6x (36st)
7.(sc 5, 2sc in next sc) repeat 6x (42st)
8-15. Sc 42
16.(sc 5, sc2tog) repeat 6x (36st)
17.(sc 4, sc2tog) repeat 6x (30st)
18.(sc 3, sc2tog) repeat 6x (24st)
19.(sc 2, sc2tog) repeat 6x (18st) --------------> At this point I will attach the eyes and fill with stuffing
20.(sc 1, sc2tog) around (12st)
21. Sc2tog around (6st)

Bind off, leave long tail.
Make face with embroidery thread.

FEET
Use Hook F
Colour B

1.5sc in adjustable loop (5st)
2.2sc in each stitch around (10st)
3.Sc 10 (10st)
Change to Colour A
4.Sc 10 (10st)
5.Sc 10 (10st)
6.Sc2tog around (5st)

Bind off, leave long tail.
Add stuffing

Make 4. Sew to bottom of the head.

EARS
Use Hook F
Colour A

1.5sc in adjustable loop (5st)
2.Sc 5 (5s)
3.2sc in each stitch around (10st)
4.(sc 4, 2sc in next st) repeat 2x (12st)

Bind off, leave long tail.
Make 2. Sew to top of head.

TAIL
Use Hook F
Colour A

1.6sc in adjustable loop (6st)
2-12. Sc 6 (6st)

Bind off, leave a long tail.
Place pipe cleaner inside tail (optional). Sew on back.

Happy Poo Strap

I haven't been doing much crafting lately. I don't know, I always find that I have no motivation to do anything in the winter... I broke out my polymer clay bucket yesterday. It's a Happy Poo strap I made for a good friend. I thought it would be pretty easy peasy to make them but you would be surprised how long it takes to turn a piece of clay into a cute looking curly poo, LOL!

My husband works for M&M Meats. This Friday there is a staff party and they are doing a gift exchange. He asked me to make a doll and we came up with M&M Man! Whoever gets this will either be thinking "Oh neat!" or "Wth......?"

Yesterday I bought the book "Tiny Treats" by Julie A. Monroe. It's a collection of projects to make..well, tiny treats! The book is geared towards kids so the recipes are super simple with easy to find ingredients. It's a great little book filled with really cute stuff.

My son wanted to make the mini donuts right away. We used cheerios, frosting and sprinkles. They looked pretty cute!

So it's Stampede time here, then next week is Westerner Days in my hubby's hometown. I made this 'cow'girl and 'cow'boy.

Their names are Lola and Franz. They are 10 years old. Franz loves fondu. Lola is lactose intolerant.

Uchiwa

It's been super hot lately. I decided I would try to make my own little uchiwa.

I grabbed the image from the Puccho candy site. I pasted it on a piece of cardboard, both sides. I made the handle by cutting out two cardboard pieces then covererd with paper. Then I attached one piece to one side of the fan, and the other piece on the other side.

The end result is kind of messy but I am definitely going to make some more.

Wow, I haven't updated in a long time! Well, I have been kind of busy lately. I had a baby boy on January 21. There's a 6yr age gap between my two boys. Gosh, it's like being a first time mom all over again, lol.

I wanted to make a mobile to hang from the ceiling or something. Instead I ended up tying these little butterflies on a long piece of ribbon and then tied it across the baby swing. The picture isn't so great, sorry!

The original pattern is from Amigurumi Collection Vol.5. Should I colour in some little pink cheeks on them?

I wanted to make a Halloween doll and here she is! My husband gave her the name Zombilina Freaky Girl. He was kind of freaked out by her "scars", haha!

She was modified from Beth D's humanoid pattern from "Amigurumi Super Happy Crochet Cute."

My mother is going to Japan next month and she just requested 3 Zombilina's for me to make to give away as gifts.

BethD Punk Bunny and Ruby Gloom

A few weeks ago I bought Elisabeth Doherty's "Amigurumi! Super Happy Crochet Cute." It's a great book to have in your craft book collection.

My son kept asking me to make the punk bunny for him. I thought I would take my time making him, but once I started I couldn't stop. So I finished him a lot sooner than expected. I need to fix his one eye though, but overall he turned out pretty spiffy!

After I made him, I wanted to try and make another humanoid doll. This time I wanted to make the cartoon character, Ruby Gloom. I would have liked to use eyelash yarn for her hair but all I had was regular yarn. I was going to keep her but my mother decided to claim her so I guess I'll just make another Ruby Gloom and try it with the eyelash yarn or something for her hair. Excuse all the little fuzzies still on her outfit....

A couple of crazy little roly poly cats. When they are not taking naps, they like to get into mischief. They shout "Whhheeeeeeeee!!!!" as they bounce and roll around everywhere. They enjoy nibbling on tuna casserole and sipping peach flavoured water.

My son and I are fans of the game Katamari Damacy. I have both soundtracks on my ipod. (It's fun to be a nerd.)

Anyway Jared asked me to make a doll for him and this is what I came up with. I guess he turned out ok..... Oh well, as long as Jared likes him (which he does, yay!)

Work in rounds. It's up to you if you want to join rounds or not

ROUND 2 - 12sc
ROUND 3 - 18sc
ROUND 4 - 24sc
ROUND 5 - 30sc
ROUND 6 - 36sc
ROUND 7 - 36sc
ROUND 8 - 30sc
ROUND 9 - 24sc
ROUND 10 - 18sc
ROUND 11 - 12sc
ROUND 12 - 18sc
ROUND 13 - 24sc
ROUND 14 - 24sc

Today I made some heart-shaped sugar cookies and Jared decorated them. He had a lot of fun decorating the cookies (and making a big mess at the same time hehe.)

Crochet Hook Case

At last! I finally made this crochet hook case. I've been wanting to make it for a long time. Now I don't need to use that ugly pencil case anymore.

I used cotton yarn to make this - my first non acrylic yarn project. It measures about 24cm X 15.5cm.

It was also my first sewing project. It wasn't all that fun actually because I had to use my mother's ancient sewing machine that kept stalling while I was sewing on the fabric, arghh!!! I need to get myself a sewing machine.
